Mrs. Mary Sowada

What is your educational background?

I earned a bachelor of science in math education from the University of North Dakota and just recently (Oct. 2023) completed a Master's in Educational Leadership through St. Mary's University of Winona.

What do you most enjoy about working in a Catholic school?

I enjoy working in a Catholic school because of the ability to teach students about our Catholic faith and also the small close-knit community support. It's very rewarding being able to get to know each student and their families, which also brings a great sense of belonging.

Hobbies:

I enjoy running, hanging out with family, watching MN sports teams and going to Twins games.

​

Family:

I have been married for 34 years to my husband, Gary, and we live in Little Falls. We have three children: Sebastian, who recently married Rachelle LeBlanc, Sophia and Katherine.

​

Employment history:

I taught in Isle, MN; Belgrade, Yugoslavia;  Mexico City, Mexico; Onamia, MN and most recently I was the assistant principal for 10 years at Mary of Lourdes School in Little Falls.

​

Fun Facts:

My husband and I lived in Yugoslavia, Mexico, Finland, France and Denmark for his job requirements and moved back to MN in 1996.
