Welcome to Holy Family School

Mary Sowada principal school Holy Family

Hello and Welcome to Holy Family School of Albany!

Holy Family offers Preschool - 5th grades, focusing on being a Christ-centered family. We strive to help each child reach his or her potential in an environment where our Catholic faith is lived and celebrated!

Since 1886, Holy Family School has served the community of Albany and the surrounding area with high academic standards, engaging commitment of families, and strong support from the Harvest of Hope Catholic Community and other local churches.

We invite potential new students and families to call Holy Family School for a tour and to see all the amazing opportunities we offer to learn and grow.

Mrs. Mary Sowada, Principal

Holy Family School was founded in 1886 when two Benedictine sisters came to teach the children of German settlers. Benedictine sisters continued to teach and lead at the school for more than 100 years. The present building was constructed in 1910. An auditorium was added in 1915, which was remodeled into classrooms in 1984.

Kindergarten was added in 1990 and preschool was added in 2004.

Today, Holy Family School's curriculum focuses on preparing students for the future. Some of the current students are the fourth generation to attend the school.   With dedicated staff, support from alumni and the community and God's generous blessings, Holy Family will be a viable school for many generations to come.

By the Numbers

"Since we are a Catholic school, we get to do fun activities during Catholic Schools Week. At the end of Catholic Schools Week we get to have a dance!
In the winter, we get to go sledding in the valley at school!

-- Haeven Feldewerd, HFS student
